October 2010: Kari Abiecunas

I became a teacher, because I am passionate about education and I wanted to help kids in our community.
What I like most about teaching is the children’s personalities.
I never have a bad day, when I am working with children.
I enjoy teaching all subjects, however writing is my favorite because I enjoy seeing the creativity that comes out in the children.
My children would describe me as being hard, but I think that they appreciate the discipline that I teach them.
The advice that I would give a new teacher would be to make sure you’re going into education because you enjoy working with children.
I hope that at the end of the year my children learn to be good citizens
and responsible.
