March 2004: Ramon Lopez-Quirarte

“My name is Ramon Lopez-Quirarte and I teach World History and Spanish for Spanish speakers here at Bakersfield High School.

I come to school because I enjoy what I do as a profession.

I have been lucky that the majority of the kids that I have are very good students.

To me the most important thing is respect, and the students demonstrate that in class.

One of my slogans that I sue is “knowledge, what a beautiful thing it is” and then another one that I sue once in a while is “the more you learn, the more you earn.

My message for everyone is to pursue knowledge whether it’s through a formal setting or on their own, because knowledge is a never ending pursuit.”
