April 2007: Kelly Sullivan

“The best thing about teaching 4th grade is that the students are big enough and smart enough to really get involved in the lessons that we’re doing. They’re able to write and read and fully participate.

My personal favorite is reading, introducing new novels to the students and doing activities with literature.

I just like to tell the kids that getting an education is definitely the key to your success.

At the end of the day, if I’ve had a lot of hands on lessons going on and kids participating and we complete a big assignment, then it’s been a great day.

I think the most important thing for parents is to make sure they’re involved and they know what kind of assignment they’re kids need to do and they help their kids with homework as much as they can.

I love being a teacher…”
