September 2011: Sandy Wendt

I became a teacher because I enjoy working with children. It’s very rewarding to see them learning new things and they get so excited, especially at this young age. The best thing parents can do for their child at this age is read with them, read to them, and instill a joy of reading in them.

My inspiration are my students. Education at this age level is very important. This is the foundation; the building blocks for the rest of their lives.

I’ve been a teacher for 30 years and I’ve been teaching second grade for 30 years.

I’m Sandy Wendt, I teach at Sequoia Elementary School. I teach second grade and I am teacher of the month.
